first, i am a newbie in this field. i x noe wat should i do to set up a economical tank which the plants will grow steadily cos now i am still a university (UTM,Skudai)student.m how i can get these stuff within johor area.

What size of the tank are you looking at ?

I once have a small 2 ft tank with simple plants without any substrate ( fertilizer under the sand ). I just add liquid fertilizer everytime I do water change.

You can DIY your own lightning system and DIY CO2 system...

But you will need water testers (Ph and Kh) and long tweezers to arrange your plants.

DO NOT get an overhead filter as it will release all the CO2 you injected into the water.

skudai...very near to singapore. I think you go 1 round in sg. you will get everything back with cheaper price. more choices in sg...

2 ft tank... you can get those Ocean Free brand lightning with a 1 piece of 36W PL ..just nice 10Gallons , 36W..

FILTER... do NOT use an overhead filter... it will release all the CO2 you injected...

To make a CO2 reactor... just use a powerhead and a reactor... a cylinder tube with bio balls inside it...
