Hi folks,

Do you guys know which lfs in KL specialise in selling aquatic plants? Apart from the 88 marine in Pandan Indah, a marine store in Tmn Maluri and the now no longer sells any in Damansara Kim, I hope I can get more places to look around.

By the way, any fish clubs in KL?

Thanks,
Joo

ps: I have alot of riccia for trade.

Frankie,

Yeah sure. How much do you want? The lfs in Pandan Indah sells 5ml of riccia for RM5 but don't worry I'm gonna sell it cheap to you. I've harvested alot from my tank....I think bout more than 10cm X 10 cm.

Hai Joo,

If you got 10cmX10cm, that will do. Sooo happy!

You can call me at 012-2350789 and we will meet up.

Frankie,

Sorry, looks like I cannot sell you the riccia right now as those riccia had been mistakenly thrown away by my father as he thought those are unwanted weeds. If you really want them then you have to wait for 3-4 weeks time for them to grow back in my tank or shorter period for less riccia. sorry

Joo

Ok frankie, will let you know when the riccia is ready for the next harvest. But this time won't be as much as I used to harvest because I'm planning to plant other plants instead of riccia.

What plants do you have currently?

Hai Joo,

I got Fanwort, Water Sprite and Java Moss. Not much. Since my tank is small I need smaller plants so that my discus got space to swim around.

Thanks again

Frankie,

Oh I thought you are one of those aquatic plants fanatic like me . You may try the riccia but it will only flourish with adequate light and co2. As for the java moss that you have, you may find that they won't grow much submersed in your tank if the temperature is above 28C. I grow mine with lower temp, around 26C.

Saw from your previous post that you are keeping blue diamond. I got 4 palm size blue diamonds myself. Found that java fern and java moss do not thrive in the tank because of the high temperature required by the discus.

Hai Joo,

The plants is an after thought. The main concern is my discus. I never knew discus is such a hassel. I keep a lot of fish since I was small in Penang. Even arawanas. They never give me such a pain! This 4 blue diamond is quite another thing. Such little devils

Anyway, the Java Moss is growing so no concern in my part there. Water temp is around 27-29C.
