Default Training to adopt new food

I intend to introduce pellet food other varieties of feed to my new young aro (approximately 7 inches). I believe the fish had been fed on live shrimps and feeder fish at the shop.

I have not tried yet, but I suspect the fish would not accept the pellet food and market prawns so easily.

What methods can I use to make the fish accept new types of food? I'm thinking of starving the fish for a couple of days to encourage it to take the new food. If this method is used, how many days can a young aro (approximately 7 inches) go without food? I dont want to starve it to death !

What other methods can I use?

Thanxs.

Hey! Tancho when I got my aro about 7 inches. I let him be do get use the enviroment about 4-5 days than I gave him pellets. No problem everything gone in 1 minute. Later I starved him for another 2 days than gave him crushed carrots whack also. Yesterday introduced to him worms no problem also. Looks like I got one which eats anything under the sun. Same as the owner He..hee...he

Waaaa.....good man your fish!! I hope mine is like that also. I'm starving him for about 2 - 3 days, then feed him pellets and see what happens.

Cheers
