Thanks arnold. I have 2 green(one my friend's aro tumpang dulu, tunggu tank) and 1.5 red in one tank. I want to put another aro in the tank so when my friend take it away his, I will have 3 in there. Trying to train them young to life in harmony under one roof.
But eventhough I have been keeping aquarium fish for 20years now, only the last 5 years I started with aro. Still spending 1K for a aqurium fish is something new to me. I have been considering last few days. The most I have spent so far was RM500 for my 1.5 red. So very confused, I have the money but is it worth it? Please advice anyone. |

RM1,100 for RTG is ok. Most RTG tagged at RM1,300 to RM1,600. If u are happy with the fish, why not?
I suppose the quality of the fish is paramount. If u need to spend a little bit more for a better fish, that's the way to go. After all, the same effort and cost are required to maintain the fish, and it's going to be around for many years. Like the saying goes "quality remains long afer price is forgotten" |

Thanks tancho for your comments. quality of the things(filter, medication and food) I use are good and expensive ones so it is worth. Dreamed about keep good aro for a long time so maybe it will come true soon. Trying to be mainstream aro hobbyist I suppose.
My main worry is if the 1.5, green and rtg(not yet buy) get bigger and fight. I have to separate them, I need to get 2 more tanks. No space in my home. Do you u think that this won't happen? Other comments are welcome. |

Thanks, arnold. I just visited them yesterday. How unfortunate it can be when the man there said they a out of stock for RTG. Ask me to come back 1 month later. Their aro's are very nice with big tails. They have for reds now, cost 3K plus. They have many hybrid between a RTG and Golden Xback. They mentioned that is more valueble toget those because chance's of crossing is very high, cost 1600 - 2000. Body like m'sian gold and tail like RTG.

Guys,
Thanks for all the advise I just gor a RTG at a LFS in my hometown Kluang, Johor. I got it for RM800. No cert. But I know this uncle for the last 30 years have a LFS in Kluang so it is the oldest lfs so I trust him. More over, the 6 inch I got already could see slight shine at the rim of the scales. I'm very happy with it. If I have time I take some pictures for you guys to take look and comment. |
