ohh....dont give up just yet.

I think u need a good start, then its high flying all the way cos bettas are the hardiest fish i have ever reared. i used to bring RO water from my ofc.....cos i didnt want to use the tap water from my house. after awhile i got tired of lugging water home everyday, so i started with my tap water. left the tap water in a bucket for a week before i actually use it for my fish. they will be fine after that.

bettas can even go for days without food
i dont recommend that though hahahha

before you get new fish, you might want to empty your tank, and start over with fresh water, hopefully no more disease will spread.

post a pic of your betta, so that someone can give proper diagnosis for him

I can see that is white spot. Due to gold fish need very cold water and the cold water will caused the white spot parasite active. Beside that, gold fish create lot of waste which will increase the ammonia. And this will kill yr betta.

I think you need a tank which is around 8inch x 8 inch x 8inch at least for yr betta. Quarantine it with anti white spot medicine n some salt. Try to use heater to increase the temperature to 30C. Try to increase it 1C a day.

The white spot parasite is free swimming inside the water all the time. And it occuring in all the fish tank. When the temp went low and made it active to attack the fishes. Soon or later yr gold fish will attacking by white spot.

Sometime, poor water condition will hv this prob also.

how bout you keep tap water in a basin for a few days

then put your betta in a separate jar with the aged water
put in the white spot medication and see how he does.

since the common factor for your 2 bettas is the water....i really suspect somethign is wrong with the water

if he does get better, do not put him back into that tank till you fully changed the tank water

keep us updated
