Got myself 4 betta fish today....then go home, put them 1 vs 1....but 3 of them dun fight one. HOw come? only 1 chasing other fish around....easy champion

all i can say that it is cruel to do this but well, let them get used to their tank/bottle/can you are keeping them in for awhile. let them get solitary 1st. wait for a few days den sure all fight.

That's a good question soyadude... I used to buy female bettas in bulk, but always end up with 20-30% males

However on the flipside, since you've just gotten them, it is more likely that the 3 are still trying to adapt to their environment... The other one has probably adapted faster.... Happens....

oh.. fighting.. they is ppl call betta as fighting fish.. they r fighter..

i only use short tail to fight. but no more le.. retired from tat. hmm is it illegal to have betta fighting in da public? do we have any competition on tat? hehe sound cruel.. sorry if i hurt betta lover here..

I asked the LFS guy when buying, he told me JANTAN. The 3 I bought at the same place. THe champion i bought other place...i din't ask the LFS, but it's written there JANTAN. haha.

Anyway, i tot LFS all selling JANTAN onli? Coz i tot wan buy female let the male syok abit 1. Sorry, too new in this.

Next i gonna find some food for these bettas. So far onli 1 of them were fed....with mosquito.....i dun like dealing with live food, so what's my option?

You can get pellets (I still prefer Hikari but right now I have Tetra Pro Colour and Micro Pellets - forgot the name) and supplement that with some freeze dried food - Bloodwords, Tubifex worms or Daphniea.

Well.... Not all LFS got female bettas one la..... Only a few that I know of la...

If they keep all together, then more likely they are females, or juvies... If males, gone all fight to death de.....

Actually, you can check for yourself whether male or female if the fish are about 4-5 cm long.... Look under the belly.... If female, there will be a white colour protrusion, look like a button.... That's the egg tube......

Food ah.... Live food is the best of course, but guppy feed also can do.... Feed using the Hikari pellets, or frozen blood worms.... The frozen blood worms would be best.....

Don't worry, Rome was not built in one day also ma..... As long you're willing to learn, then ok....

Gooner, that is absolutely right Bettas were originally bred for fish fights... Even today, there are still people who breed bettas for fights....

Actually, this sort of fights are illegal.... Irregardless of whether in public or underground..... As long as anything of monetary value is involved, then is illegal...
