How to maintain the HM in good condition

Hi to all the betta gurus,

Im new in this betta stuff... i need an advise on how to maintain my HM in the good way like:

1) Prevent the tail from thing like cramp
2) How many days is the best to do water changing
3) What do we need to add in the water (eg.ketapang tree leave needed??)
4) Keep them in the natural is better ?( eg. just let them outside the open air or below the shaded places which can easily get the rain water ?)

So far i think this are my questions. Please kindly advice.

here is my humble answer

1) Prevent the tail from thing like cramp
no idea how to prevent
2) How many days is the best to do water changing
Normally every 2days change water
3) What do we need to add in the water (eg.ketapang tree leave needed??)
optional for k-leave...i just use aged water with some salt and anti-clorin
4) Keep them in the natural is better ?( eg. just let them outside the open air or below the shaded places which can easily get the rain water ?)
normally i just put inside my house, warm enviroument will do
