red parrot is a hybrid fish. You cant breed them directly from red parrot itself. I used to have 8 red parrot last time and 3 of them is laying eggs every 2 weeks. no matter wat i do all failed. Finally one of the fish shop owner told me tat you cant breed them directly.

You only can get them by sexing their origin fish.

red parrots r a hybrid. meaning they are bred frm other chicilids.
i can't remember their names.
it's a trade secret by some breeders.

you can breed the REALL parrot cichlid! they are an emerald green color and look a bit like a saltwater fish, they are rare though.....

Exclamation Hybrids not for breeding

Hi, I am yet to be cichlid expert but i sure do know one thing, breeding hybrids are not advisable. Most hybrids' eggs are not viable for fertilization. Even if they can be fertilized the newborn may be abnormal physically. If you are lucky enough to have them normally hatched and grow, genetically they are weak. So never try to breed hybrid fry from hybridized parents. You are just killing the fish, maybe not now, but you will see the effect when this carries on. Your fish will not survive.
