Default Open Wounds

Okay, this pleco has been through you know what and back. He got very sick (from a parasite I'm almost positive) and now that he is healthy, somewhat anyway, he has two gapping wounds in his tail.

I am putting MelaFix from API, for fin repair, open wounds and ulcers. I am just curious if there is anything else I can be doing. I have seperated him in the tank, and feeding him algae discs. The tank water is fine, though I need to test the nitrate/nitrite levels.

Any other suggestions? He's a big pleco and I really don't want to loose him.

Is it a common ? Ussually specimens from the genus Gliptopericthys and Liposarcus are very hardy...scars and battle marks are nothing much to worry about unless its very deep it and that its festering. Some medication will help but remember not to add salt...

If u have s fancy pleco...then u better pay more attention to them...

Generally as long as the water is clean with regular water changes...u wont see much poblem...
