Nope...they dun eat dirt...in fact they will create dirt in the tank...sawdust.
They nibble wood as part of their diet so u can guess what come out from that.

In contrary to people thinking that these guys will keep the tank clean but in fact, they will make the tank even cloudier with floating debris that will choke ur filters.

Plecos are not harem breeders. In fact the females are free to go where they want once they finish their job. The guy however is not sooo lucky and have to take care of the kids and do house keeping...

Planted tank ? U need to read more on the particular pleco u intend to put into ur planted tank. Or u might wake up one day and find that planted tank had been nicely processed into poop.

Most pleco will take advantage of the nice & fresh salad bowl provided and leave the algae alone...heheh. They will however stay away from plants that are not that tasty or thick like nanas and moss but anything leafy like the amazon sword would look like KFC to them
very interesting dude, i know ferns and bolbitis aren't very tasty for them...haha that's why i'm creating a low maintenance planted tank for small plecs <15cm. no carpet except maybe some E tennelus.

may get the glamour L236 or L260 but as kev say always look better in pictures!

RM120 ... goodness.. it will be the most expensive pet i even got ...

but i'm sure it being a 'dirty' fish, it should be quite easy to take care, right?

Er...they will only clean glass as a part time job if they get other more tasty food. Like the common pleco aka bandaraya, they will eat everything regardless if its hungry or not.

Easy to keep ? Maybe for common plecos. U saw my list of dead plecos right ?
What do you think ? The more expensive they are, the easier they are at dying...Clean water is a must so u must be very hardworking when it comes to exotic plecos.
