Default If U Are Thinking About Cross Breeding

another cross breed? what now?....a convict and a goldfish..hahahaha..well, after the flowerhorn horror show , nothing surprises me nowdays.ok ok ...if u really want to try cross breeding fishes...as some would say for the sake of experiment,..by all means go ahead, after all its very educational to learn what u can come up with ...no harm in trying. BUT IT WILL REMAIN SAFE as long as the resulting fishes NEVER leaves the compound of your house. in another words...be RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR CREATIONS. and if u are thinking about making some fast bucks with your new cross breed ...u might as well forget it.Humans might be fools , but not dumb to be fooled twice. after the wallet cleaning experience with flowerhorns , i dont think folks would ever trust a cross breed ever again if not for a long time. and if u ask the dude who paid rm28,888.88 for the champion flowerhorn back in those crazy days how he felt right now about paying such an amount for a fish, im sure the expression on his face alone would tell u ...a crossbreed is not making a comeback!i really wonder what fish really deserved to have a rm28,888.88 price on its head? i guess not...apart from the owner trying to cheat your money and u are fool enough to depart with your hard earned cash. ok back to the topic of experimenting cross breeds....actually u would have a rough idea what the babies would look like before u even try. example..if u try a texas with a convict ...just imagine this...the result would be a texas with black bars or a convict with blue spots...it cant go further than that. ...so do really want that fish? mind u ...what ever combination u would think of , has already been thought of since u are not alone on this.....furthermore u run the risk of getting bombed by the purist, so what the heck...let someone else do the experiment and get the flak. but breeding something special runs deep in your blood...then go for selective breeding. the best male with the best female...from their offspring choose the best fish then mate it with another top class fish.the resulting generations would be a very beautifull fish still within the pure strain.but off course it will takes years of hardwork to see your results.well, if u are not thinking of overnite success in the manner of the flowerhorns...a long wait wont mean anything... after all, fishkeeping is a lifelong hobby.
