Hi there,

Is there anyone can advise on this problem. My Flowerhorns seem to have those hard fungus-liked turmoil on the pectoral fins for months. Methods had been attempted such as medication and even resorted to using knife inorder to get rid of them........however, to no avail.

Hope to hear from you soon.

TQ & Rgds.

Add salt to 0.3% and add a propriety fungus cure if you're sure it's fungus. BUT, b4 u do that, I'd recommend you do a big water change of 50% or more the day b4 u medicate. I believe the fungus cure u buy should contain methelyne blue so the water should turn blue for a while.

Hi, I think salt and medicine doesnt help. Its been about 3 months and no way of getting rid of it. First, I am not sure if its fungus..

Its white color pox but hard in nature. As hard as fish bone, seems forming part of the fish fins. Quite new to Flower Horn and nv experience b4 in my koi rearing history. Just to find out anyone of you facing same kinda problem there?

Rgds.

Hi Adrian,

There are 2 types of white-spot disease known to us so far. The fine white spots and the hard white & waxy spot types.

To treat the normal white-sopt we usually use the medicine from the aqu.shop. The other white & waxy spot disease can be treated by increasing the water temperature to about 90F.

BTW is your fish kept in the aircon room? If so, this cud be the reason for it.

Pls let us know the out come. We are all learning.

All the best to u.

Ya, tropical fish is not suitable to keep in air-cond room.

Hi Adrian!

I think your Luo Han has the same kind of "pox", mostly, your water para is not good, or dirty, you'll have to change the water every 2 or 3 days, and add 0.3% of salt to the water(can kill most of the bad bugs). 0.3% of salt only can be use for 2 weeks(recommended) for each treatment. only 0.1% of salt can only be use throughout the year. High salt level might lower down the fish's immune system.

Hope to hear from you soon, let ushow is your Luo Han doing now!

Regards,
John
