unknown diseas

My Cichlids are dying of some unknown diseases. I'm Unable to find ANY info on the problems. My Yellow Cichlids are developing some odd problems around the bottom fins. The latest one looks like styrofome balls around the anal fins! (Sorry about the layeman terms, I'm new to this) The fish is swimming alright, hiding as usual in the plant but not eating. [Beamer] Was fine this morning but aabout 2 hours ago I noticed this problem. The last one that died looked like it was trying to pass a stone from the tank! Any help would be appreciated, They're my Toddler's fish and I've got no answers fo him.
Beamer is Yellow with the black stripe on his fins, commonly called "yellow lab"
The other younger cichlids seem fine for now, But Beamer is almost a year and a half old and about 2 inches in length.

Get this, this morning Beamer still had the deformation on his underside, after work this afternoon, all is well. Nothing there! I guess we'll just wait and keep our eyes on him. We've started calling whatever it was "styrobutt" being as it looked like styrofoam balls clumped together.
