Try Aquatics International (AI) in Subang. They're the largest exporters of tropical fish in M'sia and they also sell their excess stocks to public.
They hold a vast range of South American cichlids like Angels, Green Terrors, Red Devils, Jaguars, Uarus....etc. As for Africans, they've got many of the more popular Alunacara species, the Pseudotropheus species form Lake Malawi. From Lake Tanganyikan they've got the Tropheus Dubosi, Tropheus Moori (form unknown unfortunately), Neolamprologus brichardi and I did see some Calvus the last time I was there. There's LOTS to choose from. Glad u know that cichlids are more than just flowerhorns |

Do you have their address in Subang? Because I'm from Sarawak and will be travelling down to KL end of march. I recently saw a Vieja Synspillum picture on a german magazine and I was like.. oh my god! Excellent piece

this has nothing much to do with fish...but i was wondering, can you bring live fishes and plants through the airport from klia to kuching??? because if that is possible, i will probably bring some back to kuching as i am also currently in kl...for work unfortunately....but i should find the time....
you can't believe how the kuching lfs are littered with flowerhorn that other species are so hard to come by.... |

hahahaha, that's good, perhaps they're just not that strict for domestic flight. anyway, if you're coming down to kl anytime soon, be sure to check out the fish exhibition which will be held in midvalley megamall from 7th to 9th of March 2003...don't know if there will be any fish for sale...but certainly there will be quality fishes for viewing! good thing i'm stationed at midvalley boulevard for the few weeks that i am here!

alucard,
don't worry about the exhibition, i went there yesterday and it was such a shame......sigh...it was not even educational...and seems like most of the traders there hiked up their pricing...and worst of all some parts of the exhibition is "NOT READY" when I visited it yesterday. Now that is alright if entrance is free, but you are charged RM10. It is just a total rip off because my friends and I were not able to view the discus section just because it was "NOT READY". And the courtesy of the people there didn't help much either. So don't feel bad that you're missing it cos it's nothing to miss. And the ornamental fish section seems to be much focused to the flowerhorn...honestly I got a mild headache after I finished viewing all the flowerhorn in the exhibition...didn't actually count how many of them but it was a lot! But then again, all this is my personal opinion, maybe some of you have a more positive comment? |
