Gee, the choices of tangs in Malaysia is rather limited I have to say.... Frontys are nice fish, but have you seen the C. Frucifers or threadfins anywhere in Malaysia???

I think Tangs are fantastic fish, but I also think Malaysia is obsessed with their flowerhorns now that they don't notice all the other beautiful fish... like Tanganyikan cichlids for instance.

Well, Tropheus are getting some exposure in Malaysia though.... I've seen tropheus, Frontosas, calvus and brichardi and that's about it.

What do you keep? 6bar or 7bar frontosa? Be sure not ot mix them up....

Hi,

Yes, in Malaysia, it's so difficult to get cichlids.

I've got Burundi Fronts, leleupis and ventralis but all are juveniles.

Most I import from neighbouring countries.

AI aquarium in Sg Buloh KL has some cichlids though but are overpriced.

Yes, you can also get other Tropheus like duboisi and moorii but quite pricey too. Not as bad as the calvus and compressiceps, though.

Hey there FerARO! Yes, I love Tanganyika Cichlids. I keep a Tanganyika setup myself. In it I have 5 Frontosas (4 are Burundis, 1 is a Mpimbwe), 2 Brichardis, 2 Daffodils (but one seems to be missing), 3 Leleupis, a Julidochromis and a Synodontis. They're all juvis and are growing together quite nicely in an 80 gallon tank. When the Fronts get bigger, I'll move them into a bigger tank. Anyway, it's nice to talk to a fellow Tang guy. Take care!

Pilik-Palak, what a find! I was reading the thread, thinking it was recent (it was 20 March after all) ... and only later did I notice that it started on 20 March 2003!
