I'm no expert in malawi, guys...are these pictures of the same fish that Dom is keeping? I took them 2 years ago while visiting Thailand malawi fish farm... This fish very terror...more than 1 feet in size.

Dom, impressive tank btw.

Isaac, the pics you've taken are of Nimbochromis-type Malawi cichlids ... which grow pretty big too. Champsochromis don't have the "combat" markings of Nimbochromis.

Dom, they do grow to an impressive 15" (40cm) ... but you might need an 8-footer (or a pond) for them to reach that size. Your 6-footer (72" x 24" x 30") .... I think they'll reach 12" before developing "stunted" growth.

Haha, a 6-footer with 6 12" Haps may not be a good idea. You'll have to sell off and probably keep 1m2f max ... but that is still years away.

Going bigger...Very healthy. Feeding them twice per day. Scare of they will get bloated. Lucky they are still kicking when i was back from CNY. Didn't feed for more than a week.

Come over to my place n see lar. They are too active...hard to take their picture.

Hehe.... cichlid fellas are kinda MIA issit? Where are the others who were active in the past.

Anyway, my cichlids are growing also. Wahh... whack everything everytime. Nothing left. Grow well also. But surprising they dont whack the plants yet!
