It's near Subang Airport. I think there have been numerous post about the whereabouts. You can search in the forum for it....

Default Tank mates for BD

Found a few US guys who rear BD in planted tanks. Not really fishes who attack plants except occassionally (previous experience & from others) nibbling off some plants which are not well-rooted. Diana Walstad has Frontosa in planted tanks with pots & pipes instead of rocks!

Need help with suggestions of other fishes to live with my 10 BD (2"). They are coming in just before CNY.

Default Phewwwiiiiittttt!!!!

Check out the BlueDempseys! Finally got the beautiful fishes. Despite them looking stressed in the bag, they soon got back some colour once I released them into my planted tank. Many thanks to my supplier, CC. For the first time, I see a read streak on the dorsal fins. Cant tell their sexes at 2-3 inches but they rule the tank now. A pair of spawning fierce Jewel cichlids are into the bottom tank until I can get someone to adopt them or until the BDs get larger. Nicaraguense's are a bit small to be released.

Default Hehe.... colour looks better this morning

All 6 BDs got all their colour back already. Looks like they like the plants. None of them whacked the plants yet. They are curious about the albino corydoras. Dont seem to mind the adult gold tetras, rainbow fish, congo tetras and leftover baby local koi.
Sorry about the pics. Use my camera hp only. I will get better shots next week. Doing up the bottom tank so that the fishes have more space. See the Central American Cichlid thread for the other fishes.

Default Wait till next month....

You'll see better pictures... . these BDs eat like they've been starving all their lives. Whallop everything in sight. Until my corydoras give up and decided to jump into the side filter (for baby fish).

Default Wait and see

The pink (more red than pink) fish are jewel cichlids. Quite a spontaneous breeder. Will attack anything smaller and nip at anything when they are spawning.

As for the BD, I got only 6. So far so good. Not adult yet. But they are very hungry, turning up my gravel already. So I have to find larger gravel (0.4-0.5cm) to anchor the plants. But they are a beauty. So I may keep all of them until they get unfriendly and fight. Besides, I have started weekly water changes (20%), trimming of plants & vacuming the decaying stuff. Taking out the water chestnut as it takes up too much light & space. Lilies have gone to another tank too. Replacing with more rigid leave plants.
