Pilik-Palak, you do have a point.
The only reason that I didn't categorise the database is due to the rather SMALL number of entries (at the moment anyway). As the database grows, then I will categorise when necessary. On Discus: Discus is a major cult following in M'sia & S'pore, so it would only be fair if serious Discus hobbyists keep their own Discus-only Database. Haha, if Malawi cichlids had the same following, we would have such a database too! Anyway, feel free to provide us (BlueDempsey & myself) your details and we'll add them into the database.

As to FlowerHorn ...
Actually, I don't mind adding them in. Luohan may be cichlid hybrids, but the hobbyists still share the same hobby (ie. cichlids). Also, the hobby is a fluid one - everyone may change to other cichlids (or other fishes) in future.

We would like to support the Central & South American, African and Asian Cichlids which are not so common. Again, something to make sure the interest in these cichlids grow from just keeping fish because they look nice and we have the $$$, to keeping fish and learning about them and promoting the hobby.
I suppose we could support discus, luohan or angels. Just as long as they do not overwhelm the database. As for the discus, it looks more likely that they will be able to support us rather than us supporting them! |

Since I usually at least have one species of cichlid kept at hand, here is my info.

(Jewel cichlid, aquarium strain, apparently most sold in LFS may be mixed or unknown ancestry), Mikrogeophagus altispinosa, Pelvicachromis pulcher, Mikrogeophagus ramirezi(local bred), Vieja synspilum, Vieja bifasciatus(?), Vieja argentea, Vieja regani, Amphilophus citrinellum, Laetacara curviceps, Aequidens rivulatus, 'Cichlasoma'/Mesonauta festivum, Archocentrus nigrofasciatus, Heros efasciatus(not H. severus as previously thought), Uaru amphiacanthoides, Cyphotilapia frontosa 'Burundi', Astronotus ocellatus, Apistogramma macmasteri, etc. Remarks: Hobbyist, and the list above only of cichlids I kept since this is cichlid database.
