Default Buccochromis nototaenia

Got these fish from colim who got them from CC sometime ago. Now there are in my CA tank due to lack of space. Seem to have joined the petenia splendida (red snooks) pretty well. One is at 7" and the other is 9". The larger fish seem to like picking leftovers from the splendida and doesnt go for floating fish pellets unlike the smaller fish. The petenia splendida do not encounter each other so much since they joined the tank. The jewels just mind their own business looking for mates all the time.

Default Colours in bucco

Noticed that the eyelid and sides are starting to show slight bluish hue and the tail is yellow most of the time in the male.

Doc,

You become United Nations oredi lar....... you got CAs, Malawis, African Riverines and you told me you had panchax (Asian) in there...... gotta give it to you.... too many fish.... too little space hor???? Well, you have very unothrodox methods....... and presumably if you pull it off, you'll be a master lar.... and believe me I've seen some having the odd mix living peacefully, only once though.

Default Hehe,.... learning from the other sifus

I have 2 tanks. The ferocious ones in the bottom tank. The not so ferocious ones in the top tank. I use plants, drift wood and rocks to distract them. The dominant fish tend to take the best places. The rest just take the other hiding places. The plants provide some additional vitamins & minerals. Top it up with frequent maintenance of the side filters and external filters. Not to mention the cleaning of the glass. No excessive feeding. Besides, I may need your help to dispose off some once they get too big for the tanks.

THe sole panchax was in another tank with BlueDempseys & Nicaraguenses. I let the vallisneria run wild so much so that its covering 1/4 of the tank. Have to do some gardening already.
