Default Ever been bitten by a blue ram?

Wah the other day I tried to remove the eggs spawned by the pair... the female bit my finger, quite pain wei haha. My finger turned red afterwards. My blue rams ah... useless la, always spawn tak jadi one. End up eating eggs or a lot turn white. Why ah whyyyyy!?! Useless at raising the eggs, but damn good at biting intruding fingers.

This is not the first time they spawned la, spawn 4-5 times adi still eat eggs, that's why I tried to take it out. Wah, can bleed? I guess the female let me off easy :P. Talking about biting the hand that feeds it. I think there's a problem with F1s and below breeding la.. dunno how to... get jiggy properly.

Did you check your water pH?? If eggs turn white most probably water not ngam. But anyway ram is quite difficult to spawn rated (difficulty 4 of 5) even more difficult than most apistogramma

Muahahaha my bitaeniata only left 8 juvies out of 1st spawn. Trisfas better got about 15.....still waiting for Inka.....2nd spawn liao still wallop the eggs...damn kao scary cat pair soooo easily spook....

Galactuz, they spawn all the darn time but it's never successful. Never seen wrigglers. Always eat eggs or turn white. pH ah, near neutral, 7-ish. Can it be a problem with F1 onwards generation rams spawning? People seem to have better results with wild pairs. I see my rams a bit blur blur when it comes to the birds and the bees. I think I should separate the pair for a while and then reintroduce them into a breeding tank. Community tank might be spooking them into eating eggs.

I think I see your "PROBLEM" liao.

German Blue Ram breeds in softwater leh......you think Bolivian Rams meh With your neutral pH you can breed Bolivian Rams lar. Thats why eggs got wallop lar. When the eggs turns bad (turn white) the parents will clean them so that the fungus will not infect the others. So the problem here is your pH cause the eggs to turn bad lor. Try lowering your pH to 6.0-6.5. I think this should do the trick.

Muahahaha BD,

My fish looks so so nia. I couldn't provide them the optimum condition yet for them to show their true beauty. Uncle Yogigan's apisto looks much better than mine. My rams infected by dropsy and all gone to fishy heaven liao. Now have 1 a.trifas female, 1 pair of a.bitaeniata, 1 pair of a.baenschi and 2 a.viejita male (I think these fellas the best looking among them and a surprise being the least maintained - no WC, green water etc. ) Rest all poecilia reticula var.

Will try to snap a picture of my juvies/fries community tank.....

Kev & CC boss,

Can get female companion for my viejita ah?? They are now re-enacting Brokeback Mountain lah....... 2 males cuddling each other in 1 cave....unlike my other pairs fight like mad fins torned everwhere....best still the trisfas female, smallest of all females but record holder for murder, 2 males under her belt already........
