I just bought this fish recently and it is claimed to be a 'fire fox', translated directly from chinese....
I couldn't identify the genus and would appreciate if someone can shed some light. Thanks! Link to the picture.... http://uk.f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/bc/...c=ph%26.view=t |

Tropheus sp. red "Moliro" either sub adult or female.
Not the best community fish as they are almost strictly vegetarian. Excessive amounts of meat cause the fish to sucumb to bloat over time. To read more about tropheus.... http://www.tropheus.info/ |

Thanks kev,
Managed to get feedback on another forum on this fish.... Could be Moliro or the Bright Red described in this site. http://www.africandivingltd.com/disc...brightred.html The fish is beautiful even while juvenile and shows signs of great agression. Great to have for Tanganyika lovers. |

U're best of buying a whole lot of these fish... like 10-15 of them and grow them up together. Once they reach sexual maturity, u'll need that many of them in a 4ft tank to keep successfully. Any fewer and u'll have many casualties... need more to spread the aggression.
Beautiful fish, but like all tropheus, not a beginers fish.... Most common problem with these young tropheus is 'bloat'. Read up on bloat and what to do in case of bloat. good luck.... and I love my Tanganyikan cichlids. |
