29gal tank advice

I have a 29 gallon tank. I am going to put in one convict and probally one firemouth. I am gona put them both in at a young age at the same time. I was wondering what are some smaller schooling fish that can go in the tank. They could act as deithers and targets plus fill up some space and add more life expecially if they will swim in the upper regions of the tank also. I know one might get ate once in awile but i will introduce them at the same time to let them start off together. I was thinking tigar barbs or something if any one can help out with advice i would appreciate it thanks.

good short term idea of convict "tyson" n firemouth "bruce lee" with "woody allen" schooling fish but get ready for tempers flying n dead bodies but at least the convict n firemouth will have a good time

I was also hoping the schooling fish might help direct aggresion from the con and firemouth so they dont kill each other.

convict and fireboy will try to kill each other on day jobs, while both takes nite jobs killing the schooling fish.

man, so you dont think they will survive together. I know people say a pair of cons will work in the tank but i wanted some diversity. Some else said a con and a salvini but from what I read thoes are meaner than firemouths so I dont know. I really like cons personality what should I keep with it.

keeping a pair of convicts means only 1 thing.....spawning, soon or later you will get plenty of little convicts to fool around with and to worry about ... say a bigger correction center, coz a 29g sure gonna be too small for the chain gang
