yea i cant see this photo too, but i dont have to see it ...all flowerhorns worth no more than 50cents ....to me at least i have nothing against flowerhorns personally...accept towards the dudes who release them into our waterways....once those fish fail to meet the owers expectation. man ...how do u expect a rm10 juv purchase at jalan pasar grow up to be a champion fish just like in the magazines....that simply doesnt happen. hands up anyone here who has suceed in breeding them..... i bet , the LFS would only trade in a packet of hikari fish pellet for the whole lot. u get pissed off...better release them, and get good omen. hahaha.. good omen ...sure sure ..its just because u cant sell it. the first flowerhorn i saw was back in 2000, with a rm3,888 price tag on its head. it was beautiful...but on a closer inspection, i said no,no,no...this couldnt be real...coz what i thought i saw was a new trimaculatus species caught from the wild, but realise it was cross bred. how did they do it, cichlids seldom cross breed on their own if ever at all. i thought they never go beyond blood parrot, but i was wrong. man ....rm3,888! that was not even on the high end...i heard folks paid as much as rm50,000. it was crazy.. i was asking myself...does the dude who paid that price actually knows what he is getting? of course he dont! and seriously, a serious cichlid aquarist would never pay such a price knowing a trimac doesnt cost more than rm50 ,furthermore it would be a joke to ALLOW a crossbreed ANYWHERE NEAR THE DOOR of a house full of top class viejas or cichlasoma....its unthinkable!.... not only that... LFS began to hop on the gravy train, stocking their shops with flowerhorns cashing on the new BREED OF AQUARIST. Many LFS who i swore had never sold cichlids before suddenly had their namecards printed CICHLID EXPERT no doubt, many unexperience aquarist had departed with their hard earned money...for the sake of having a flowerhorn, breed them and make tons of cash. i know this dude, a friend of mine actually , he bought a new honda accord with money he got from his flower horn spawn. smart guy. i must admit theres a lot of money to be made from the flowerhorn and i curse myself for not joining in since i have the facility to do if i wanted. i pay homage to the guys who made money from flowerhorns...bravo...its hard earned money. BUT WHAT ABOUT U GUYS WHO DIDNT SUCEED?...where did u throw your unwanted fish? was it the lake? , the pond ?, the river? are u really out of your mind? sorry, sorry...i shouldnt be angry, after all u are not a serious aquarist, u dont know there are fishes call sebarau, belida, haruan, lampang, bujok, toman, of course u dont know they existed in those waterways long before we humans came along. and i dont expect u to know that your flowerhorns are destroying and killing the babies of those fishes, u might tell me u know about our local fishes ...so why in the hell did u release your flowerhorn there? I WANT MY KIDS , YOUR KIDS AND THEIR FUTURE KIDS TO ENJOY AND FEEL FOR THESELVES HOW ITS LIKE TO HAVE A TOMAN OR A SEBARAU AT THE END OF THEIR FLYROD, CRANKBAIT OR EVEN ON A SIMPLE BAMBOO POLE, INSTEAD OF ASKING US HOW IT REALLY WAS.
