One of my cichlid's has a pertruding buldge under his mouth. Do they carry their eggs in their mouth? If so, how long does this process take? When do you need to move them to a safer place to protect the babies? If they don't, was is this buldge?

what type of cichlid you keeping? if malawi cichlid, will take around 8-14 days to get the eggs hatch in their parents' mouth. Normally female will keep the eggs inside the mouth. Then she will release the fries after the fries able to swim.
The parents will protect the fries. If you mixed with other adult cichlids. It is better for you to remove the others. Else, they will take the fries as their food. |
