hi pigeon,
won't frighten the fishes. do this fast. "serok" the fish, close his eyes with your hand so he won't jump.(thats the secret when you net your fish. always close one of their eyes to prevent them from "loncat-loncat"). use a scissor can too. but not trim the hard fin(the front). soft fins(back fins) can grow perfectly but need time. that can be cause by "jamur" (how to say this in english, stan?) better don't use acry but methylene blue will be better.

hi pigeon,

you can afford to trim it all the way back and just a millimeter in... will grow more evenly otherwise there will still be a break...

baby's good fish handling tip.
plan carefully. a soft damp cloth on a flat surface[chopping board? hehe] cover head and gills area. stretch the soft rays and use a sharp cutter to make a straight cut.

baby, jamur in this case you mean fungus?

i'd say for operation like this we should be more worried about bacterial infection[fin rot] than fungus.[if fin rot then back to square one! nye nyear!]

i'd stick to acriflavine and put a little salt in the water...

hi stan,

thanks for the translation. sorry you are right it's fin rot. but sometimes can cause by fungus too.
aiyo, cannot put the fishes lay on the damp cloth la.... can "loncat-loncat". you have to hold it with one of you hand and the other start trimming.

Smile God have mercy on the fishes !!

Potong here potong there.....Ahyoo..........

May God have mercy on the poor fishes.

I dont think i can bear the sight of cutting the fish down even though it means it will look better (hopefully) in the future.

let it be...let it be...........
