Nice pair u have got there........
But I would have thought MP should be more orangy pink rather than so red. Anyway, would u mind telling what % of the fries turn out to be like the parents ?

I'm not sure if it's true for all MP's but I like the color (and the shape) of the female better. I'll give an update in about 2 months how the fry turn out. Water here is hard. I followed the advise of a hobbyist/breeder to just put rock salt to make the water soft. I forgot he lives in a another city. Out of 228 eggs, about 3-5 turned white, and about 2.5 to 3 dozen hatched. The dad practiced on two-thirds (first successful hatch for the pair, although mom looked like a pro already). There's less than a dozen that survived and hopefully make it. I'm assembling the R/O unit this weekend. Quote:
I'll see what I can do with the pics with Photoshop. If it doesn't work, I take more pics. Last edited by Yoda : 24-11-2005 at 12:58 AM. |

Good for you man, Spiky!
Glad that you have finally found a working male melon for the female....here goes a starting point for future mass production! It's better for you to feed those fry with baby brine shrimp/artemia, instead of daphnia though. Keep us posted here with the fry development! Cheers!
