Ha!ha!ha! FE,
You sounded like....' "I know you keep good discus, but do you know who else breed good discus ...I want to buy from him.....hmmmm... Anyway, jokes aside, there are a few good books in the market. Maybe go into Ebay.....but if you want an autographed one....I am afraid you have to buy from me directly. Take care, Andrew

Good analogy Andrew
BTW, my fish is still very nervous, they got even more shy after the last water change. I literally sneak toward the tank to feed them since they panic and hit themselves to the corners of the tank...They stack on top of each other...It has been 12 days on this tank...I cannot even enjoy watching them yet. since they are hiding behind the pots... i suggest you put some food in front and sit there and wait for them to come out and eat...then pay attention to external symptoms. colouration etc

Yes, that usually works. Actually there is usually a brave one which comes and grabs the food first and the others follow. But does this mean I will always have to wait feeding time to see my fish swimming around ?????
I hope not. Fethi |

normally small fellas take sometime to adjust. once they are bigger they won't be afraid to come out. it's good that your fish is eating. always be around when you feed so that the fellas recognise the one that feeds...

they are fine now... very active and come to greet me when I sit in front of the tank. I ahve a different issue with my Blue diamond though..It has couple bloack scales or looks like black dots...What are those, have any idea?
Thanks FE |

could be the breed isn't that perfect. blue diamond does have a few grades...
some are 2 to 3 time more expensive because it's cleaner. question: does your BD have a grey/black line on the peduncle[where tail meets body]? if it does it means your BD is of a lower grade. don't be disheartened. with andrew's book you will learn how to choose a fish that you can be proud of. normally in planted or dark tanks the pigmentation of fish that has golden or pigeon genes becomes pronounced. even normal red turquoise will look darker...HTH.
