Default Territorial Tang

Hi guys (sorry and ladies!), am new to the forum!
I have a powderblue tang which is not getting on with a copperband butterfly. It has settled in well with everyone else but keeps chasing the copperband butterfly and now the butterfly is scared and keeps hiding in the top corner to avoid it or swims away from it quickly which makes the tang chase! Any suggestions other than to take the tang back to the aquatic shop and can it wait until the weekend? Thx Dave

blue tang their habit is like this. mine tang also chase other fishes. but just chase only lar, bitting no!! i think there should be no problem unless ur tang start bitting the copperband. if like this, either 1 of them is need to guard by something or else return the copperband back to the LFS cause copperband is not easy to kept since it is diet on foods.(mean not like to eat)

I have a copperband and he's the greediest of them all in my tank. He eats brine shrimp and picks on food on the live rocks 24/7.. eats non-stop!

Despite being discouraged by many LFS owners, I introduced a new tomato clown into my tank 2 weeks after the 1st tomato went in. Initially, the 1st tomato clown kept chasing and attacking the new one ... and the new one hid in one corner for 2 days. Then, I decided to take the 1st tomato out of the tank and bagged him up for 2 days.. Meantime, I shifted the live rocks around, made some new arrangements in the tank ... and I re-introduce him back into the tank again. My 1st clown thinks that he's in a new tank and now, both my clowns are getting along very well.

I don't know if this would work for your tang and copperband.. but it's worth a try.

haha!!unlucky for me, my copperband died cause of diet. so i turn it to reef tank. now,my reef tank only have a blue tang and 4 mutlet fish. keeping coral is more good than keeping fish cause fish always fighting for their living space. hey, one thing is ti say that how about next time u buy another fish inside? need to do arrangement again?? that will be troublesome for you sinc eeverytime you introduce new fish, u need to decorated again. a lot of chinese kung fu you will spend on ur LF designing. hahaha!!

the coral open halfway only since yesterday... not like when i first bought it, it opened fully.. my lights are switched on more than 10 hours a day.. is it becoz the clown is sitting on it all the time.. or something wrong with water level? the rest of the corals and fishes are normal.
