are u using the swing arm hydrometer to check yr salinity? if you are wud suggest you cross check yr salinity at a lfs that uses a refractometer. there have been cases where the reading given by the hydrometer was out by some 0.007.

i'm using the ones with glass hydrometer/thermometer (floating type)

will take your suggestion and go and check with a LFS in Taman Melawati then.

Thanks.

Default Refractometer

Hello everyone, I have a refractometer with a BRIX screen on it. I have no idea how to read it. I have a salt water tank (just started in this lifestyle) and it reads 4.6. Is it any good? The water was added yesterday. pH is at 6.8. I know it's a bit Acidic but we just added the water and I am expecting the pH to go up.

Thanks

Ralph
