Im starting up a 55 US gal which is about 121 liters (i think). How big of a refugium should i get for it?

there is no limit... get the biggest u can afford..
more water = more stable your tank gonna be

I know that...but i plan on getting an HOB and i dont think glass can support 100 pounds hanging off the side..

It should be at least one third of your main tank size anything less and your wasting your time. Of course as the other poster said bigger is better.
