Can someone identify this????

I was in the process of cleaning out my filtration system, and noticed this little animal. Not sure what it is and if it poses any threat to my tank. Any knowledge on this will help. Thx.

looks like a kind of amphipod to me.

Yup, as oceandeep mentioned, it's an amphipod. Totally harmless and in fact, good food for your fish eg., Mandarins, etc.

Thanks for the info on this. It looks like I have a few of these. Just wanted to make sure it was not a problem to my tank.
