Default yellow tang died, please help

Hi all,
I have a trigon 350 tank, a fluval 405 filter+25w vecton, Primz skimmer, 4400lph flow, about 20 kilo of live rock. Live stock is 2x clowns, 4x humbugs, a domino, a blenny, 2x cleaner shrimp, urchin, conch and some snails and crabs
The thing is I added a yellow tang about two weeks agos and he has died. My amonia he go upto about 0.5 but I'm not sure if this killed him as every thing else in the tank is fine. At the end he looked great but was staying down the bottom of the tank and hiding under rock and swimming was wobbly.
Leavels are
Amonia 0.5 (normally 0 utill i add fish)
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0
PH 8.3 - 8.4
salt 1.024
Also I've just got red algae growing on my sand don't know if this means anything
Cheers

not familiar with the tank. what's it's size? anyway,yr water parameters shud be alright if yr shrimps are surviving.

yellow tangs are one of the hardiest fishest around,if they are feeding. was yours feeding? if all things are good and yoir tank is big enough to keep it,most probably u got one from a bad batch. some fishes are known to be cynide caught. where did u buy yours from?

as for the red algae, most probably u have "dead spots" in yr tank. try to create more "flows" and see if it helps.

Some tangs are diet.....Really need to play tricks when trying to keep them...

Do your tang consume any foods?

Abit salty

1.020 - 1.023 salinity.

What fish product u feed ur fish?

What are the lighting u 've? T5, metal hydrite or normal lighting?

Ammonia must be 0

1 canister might not be sufficient to sustain the whole ecological system, i would recommend sump tank system for that much of fish. Some fish require calcium, i dunno whether that's fish requirement meet?
