Default Live rock : can we make one?

Hi, I want to get more info about live rock as what I have read over in the internet are confusing.

Live rock can be easyly purchase in most LFS, selling around RM 8.00 (USD 2.00) per kg. What it is actually?

From the internet, it said that its prefer that we "cure" the live rock before putting it inside the tank. To my understanding, during this process, we kill everything inside the live rock, then put it in a new tank for 2 - 3 weeks, so that new micro will grown inside live rock. It is true?

Then, does it mean that we can create our own live rock by putting rock/ coral/ lava rock inside the tank?

Yes. You can just put a rock in a matured tank to create live rock.

I don't know
if you can make a new one is better
especially for those who doesn't like uncertainty
because sometimes inside the liverocks pores contains some living creatures

one of my liverock that I bought from the LFS contains a tiny crab
that crab was hiding inside the liverock pores
I didn't know until I put that liverock in my tank

lucky it's not a small mantis shrimp

Yep. That's why is good to quarantine the live rocks for about 2 weeks after buying it from the shops.
