Default Cotton Wool Disease- urgent!!

I have just discovered one of my orlanda's head is full of "fungus" and it looks like soom cotton wool sticking on the head and one side of the head looks "cracked" to me.

Am not sure what it is but if anyone out there can help me to solve it would be much appreciated.

Orlanda head good fungus, i used be have one last time! but 9 fishes out of 2 gishes finally got cure..!! 7 got dead !! now i dun wanna breed orlanda...cos it head easy get infected by fungus...i prefer breed ryukin and ranchu.

Thanks Jimmy, but is too late, she dies. Is ok, i will try best to take care of the rest, someone suggested to use "Diamond" water for the aquarium, i tried and it seems not bad, the rest look very healthy now.

you know what,this might be the reason,when you see those cotton wool on the fish,mostly is you put too much anti clorhine,are you using those RM1 kind of thing,if yes, make sure the amount you put in is rite,not over or less.
for me i stopped to use them for a very lonng time.use some better one like aqua plus or genisis.

yup, i used those kind, it was recommended by the shop owner, i didn't know there is a better type.sigh....is ok, i use "diamond" water now.. hope they be fine with it.

Currently i breed ranchu and ryukin more! i dun use any good quality water...just like normal and with my own create filtering process. Everything running smoothly been 3 yrs, i only added in new water everyday! This aqua help me to save a lot of fishes, unfortunately it only 6'feet aqua. is not enuff for me to put more fishes....!!

how many gold fish do you keep in you 6'feet aqua? I have a H3'feet X L3'feet X D2.5"feet aqua without stand to give away (almost in square shape), let me know if you are interested.

Get fungus medications. Read the lable before you put it in. I killed my snails when I put my meds in.

Hi Goldishees,

Like I have said twice now in this forum "Salt and Salt again". Salt can cure most fungal and bacterial infections and it has the added benfit of not hurting the lovely snails. In my aquarium there are many snails both the prolific small variety and the big fellows, and they are great for reducing the alge. If you want to see what experiance I have with salt then see my repley to David's or Darkhorse's postings,
