Default Is my Goldfish on its last legs (fins)

For the past few days I've noticed that my year old goldfish has slowed to a virtual stop.

It only seems to move about very infrequently, generally only at feeding time. Other than that, it would spend the majority of its time lying at the bottom of the tank, hiding behind one of the plants of ornaments.

It tend to be lying with a lean to its left side, almost sideways.

About a month ago, its little fishy friend died - and we've not replaced it.

Could it be that he/she's lonely ?

Thanks

What did its "fishy friend" die of was it the same symptoms???

Sounds like its not too well, I had a goldfish a few months ago from a pet shop and he ended up doing the same thing as yours is doing and then it found a dark place and died.

Do you have enough oxygen going into your tank??? as goldfish need alot of oxygen and moving water.

Your fish is sick.. VERY sick...
Make sure you start doing regular water changes, at least every couple of days til your fishy friend gets better. As mermaid suggested, make sure you have oxygen going into your tank as well as using water conditioner when doing water changes.

You could use MELAFIX to medicate the tank however one drop of tea tree oil works exactly the same. If you add one drop of tea tree oil and tap water conditioner to a couple of litres of water, then put the new water in the tank, he should liven up a bit.

Hope this helps,
Lauren
