Default Black Moor

I have 2 Black Moors and I LOVE them! They don't need a water heater, but a filter is a MUST HAVE. They generate waste like any fish. I'd get at least a 20 gallon filter for a 15 g tank, personally, I'd probably get one that could handle a 40 g tank, because the cost differential is minimal and you'll really appreciate it later because the water will be so much cleaner.

They don't care about decor, but you'll want gravel, maybe some rocks and artificial plants. My first BM is at least 4" long and 3-4" round now after 2 years. He's definitely a cool fish. They get along well with other fancy goldfish and even Sarassa Comets and baby koi. I found them very easy keepers, but you have to watch them for fin rot. Keep some anti-fungal med on hand, just in case, or triple sulfa. It cures fin rot quickly.

Also, make sure you have air. I like air stones myself.
