Default Ho Melaka Updates

Hi Lam,
Reached home safe around 10:30pm yesterday. The babies are now in a quarantine container. The water is filled to 16" x 16" x 6", 0.5% salinity and temperature 27 Celsius. Just checked on them this morning. They are swimming happily and seem looking for food. Is the container big enough for the quarantine purpose? I need to change the water daily and do it for three day, right? Need confirmation from you.
A big thank you to Lam, Vincent, Loke and Michael for opening my eye to the world of Japanese Ranchu. Great ranchus, great stories, great dinner and not forgetting the BEST hospitality you guys showed us. We will be back soon for more.

Ho,

It is our pleasure to have you here. It is great to know another kaki.

The tub is good enough even for a few week of keeping. Since the tub is mobile, you can place it outdoor for the time being to express algea grow. Always remember to cover it with net, or else king fishers and cats will come disturb.

On the other hand, the water depth is a little too deep. 4" is good enough already. Just drain some out tonight after work will do or next water change. (First 3 days, daily water change and after that, weekly will do)

Hope this trip is fruitful for you and your family. Look forward for your next visit. We'll go for goldfish farms, if you wish, and more ipoh food. And do let me know, cos I just found out we got special rate for the particular hotel you stayed in. I think it is 70+/80+ per night.

Cheers,
Lam

Hi EzieG,

Good! They look healthy and strong. But you need to push the feeding a little stronger. So, do you notice the belly of ChinaRyukin's? That's what it should be. Don't worry, now we need to push them a little on diet. More bloodworm and pallet will be good for their body shape development. Also, I notice the fish swims a fair bit due to less food given. So they swims around more frequent to search for more food. If given more, they'll swim less. How about your feeding timing and amount of bloodworm?

I wonder how many "click" (shutter on the feed amount) of the auto feeder ChinaRyukin is using. Maybe can share some info. thanks.

How about water change. So you have carpet algea or green water on day 5-7? Now need to reserve some carpet algea already. Clean only half and leave the other side for the next water change to clean. Do it vice-versa every water change.

Cheers

Default My feeding timing

Hi to all,

My feeding schedule:
1) 6am
2) 7.30-8am (today start increase from 3 to 4 cubes of bloodworm)
3) 10.30am
4) 12.30noon

For each time the autofeeder rotate twice but shutter is at 2nd (about 2cm opening only).
Today i've changed menu from masu to ayu, to carry on for next 2 weeks. then back to masu (if supply arrive).

Yeemiau,
I've almost finish the masu and ayu within another 2 weeks, can i get some more supply for both masu and ayu?

Cheers

Default Ikea Sale, Cheap Plastic Tank!!!

Hi TVR lovers,

I was at Ikea today, looking for plastic tank for a spare tank.
I've found a good bargain set: plastic tank (1m x 0.5mx 0.2depth) for RM45.
It's actualy a multipurpose storage box made as a drawer which can slot into a shelve (rack). 1 shelve is made to carry max 3 drawers, and it come with tyre with break on all 4 legs.

The sale is for it's shelve from normal price of RM210 now selling for only RM10 (i'ts really crazzy sale). So i bougth the combination of 1 shelve + 1 drawer (plastic tank/box) for RM55 only.
I'll send photo of the setup later.

Cheers

of course their belly not 'fat' as that time was 7pm (changed water). every morning their body are in the good shape.

their feed time is 5am, 7am (3 cube of BW), 9am, 11am and 1am and i set 3 click shutter for autofeeder... do i need to increase their diet?? what i noticed is their growth rates are very fast.

nope, i still cant find carpet algae or green water... i think i may delay the weekly water changes to promote the green water, does this works??

Thanks very much for sharing your reciepe.

We have few Kg left on Ayu and Masu limited. Already ordered and new ones coming in 7-10 days. I suppose we still have enough stock to fulfil your order (depending how heavy you want, will send by normal post since it is not urgent for the time being.)

Just let me know how much you want and we'll send it.

Thanks again.
