Koi and wakin are top view fishes, suited for keeping in pond.
Very similar, but no other fish can beat the redness on wakin.
Kohaku koi also very popular among koi lovers.

So if i just planning for or wanna start a new pond, which fish is best?
Kohaku koi or Wakin or Jikin or other goldfish?

Yeap,
Both comes from Japanese and same families too.The Japanese even bred 'Shonai kingyo' (red & white single tail goldfish) resemble to the Kohaku. The colour as deep as Wakin colour.

Read from japanese web page said that Shonai created by crossing 'Tamasaba'(Single Tail Ryukin) and Wakin.

Here is the info and picture of Shonai Kingyo (shiyounai kingyo).Kingyo means Goldfish.

Bro,
U seem to 'sheok'(xcited) oledi..LoL..

Ryukin is a mutation from Wakin.
That why the colour of the Ryukin is soo deep as Wakin colour.

Many Japanese goldfish contain Wakin bloodline. This means they can grow SUPER LARGE.

Some info about Wakin crossing:

1)Jumbo Oranda or Jumbo Jishi head,Wakin X Oranda

2)Jumbo Azumanishiki,Wakin X Azumanishiki

3)Shonai kingyo,Wakin X Tamasaba(Single Tail Ryukin)

4)Watonai,Wakin X Ryukin

that's I remember in the moment..

first i think you should think of the size of the pond. Koi can grow more than 2 ft......and the depth of your pond also.......must at least 4 ft for koi keeping.....
