Here is my current setup for my wakins:
Total 8 wakins: 5 pcs red white wakins size about 5.5" and 3 pcs redcap wakins smaller size about 4.5".
Green water depth 5"
Water change 50% every two weeks
Air pump: 24 hours
Boifilter: Bioring + BB (add BB every after water change)and some floating plants

So far so good, they have grown alot since i have them.
Any comment abd suggestion are welcome!!!!!

it's not toyogo, that's my ikea elevated tub.

For more on this product please see: http://www.myfishforum.com/threadnav4466-14-10.html

I'm thinking to creat something with bigger space for them soon.....it's getting crowded.

One option that i'm seriously looking into is DIY cement tank on my balcony floor. but i've no experience in construction, never do this cement thingy.

Can anyone experinced advice me on the type of cement, any special cement that is waterproof, also other tips and what to do & what not to do.

Thanking you in advance..

Default Update of My Wakins 17/2/07

Hi to all, Gong Xi Fa Chai!!!!

It's been quit sometime due to busy at work. Very limited time spent on my wakins. My pond project have not started yet. I really need a good long break/holiday to DIY on the pond.

Here are some update photos of my wakins. I found out 1 pc missing during last water change, suspect it jumped out of the tank. So now I got remaining 4 redwhite and 3 redcap wakins. They are getting more tame with my hand, every morning they bit my finggers when I sink in my hand.

Happy Prosperous New Year To ALL Goldfish Enthusiats,

My setup don't have permanent filter system, i only use an overhead filter system once a week to suck out the solid waste.
But i put in bags of biorings to house beneficial bacteria. I pour in some drops of BB into the water once every week. This BB and the floating plants playing an important role as biofilter system.

Refering at your photos of your tank (on your thread), you already got the grrenwater. Congratulation!!! It still at early stage, density of algae are still low. That's why the color is very light, only significant when you see from the side of your tank. Just keep feeding your fish as usual with the direct sunlight, you will get thicker greenwater in some more days. You can also prolong your watercycle.
When doing next water change, remember to keep a portion of the first brew, so next brew you will get greenwater faster. Add back the greenwater when the newwater (after water change) is stable.

Good luck,

Default Update Photos

I'm reorganising my goldfish and preparing setup for new project early next week. So got time to pick some photos of my redcap wakins.

At this stage I must admit that wakin is real hardy goldfish.

Cheers,

No problem!!!! I donno to check their gender. Sure you can.
But you need to make sure they r mature enough ready to undertake the job.

Let me know when you ready.
