silent filter

does anyone know of a silent or very quite filter system
I have a medical condition that leaves me extremly sensitive to sound esp viberations I just bought a 10 galon aquarium and the noise from the filter is unbearable for me
I have found a silent air pump but i know the filters are more important will my fish die if i dont use one is there any alternative i have 3 fish am totally new to fish keeping would apreciate and advice on this

Try a canister filter,that the most silent that i found since I got 1 tank in my room.very silent since the tank is very near from my bed.cheers.
