I'm using a plastic tub at the moment and normally I use a 3M hard sponge (Green) to rub the surface to score it a bit for better surface finishing to ease the algae growth.

I only have morning sunlight till 11am.

Cheers.
Im using a 2 feet glass tank for experiement to cultivate the carpet algae using light. after 2 weeks, finally it grows. So i will try to use same method tomorrow (water change day) to my ranchu in 4 feet tank.

Tan,

I have same problem as you initially. I don't get direct sunlight, so the carpet algea don't grow. Then i use strong PL light (2x36W) for 3'x2 tub. The result seem good, i got carpet algea (not sure is bright green as the tub is blue) and also green water every after 3 days of water change. If algea still not good enough, just add the light or increase lighting time.

Hope this help.

My other problem is time constraint. Can't follow u guys way of feeding...Anyway, i am trying hard to achieve as much as i can.

Regards
eu

NOTE:

My way of feeding BW is not the way our sensei tough us. The normal way of feeding is one hour of full feeding and 1 hour of rest and digestion. please note that my way of feeding is experimental and result is yet to discover.

Cheers

From the photo it look like their shape (at the momoent) become longer instead of thicker.

BTW which is the way that sensei advice to practice? Could you please share his words...

Thanks,

Thanks,
It look that way cos i've stopped feeding them since the day before 12pm (water change) or else their belly should be slightly bigger. But not to the desired level i'm looking for. As you say "body long". On the other hand, short fish easy to make good thickness and i've choosen those with longest body during my selection.

The feeding should be 1 hour of full feeding and 1 hour of rest.

What it translate into in term of feeding schedule.
Does "1 hour full feeding" meaning "feed them non-stop for 1 hour"?.

Currently max time I allow them to finish each feeding is 30 mins, they can finish 3-5 cubes BW.
After they clear it, I give them min. 1 hour to digest before the next feeding.

Default Update Photo 1st July 07

Hi to all,

Fish age: 2 months

Here is photo taken sunday afternoon (WC on saturday).
1 pc haven't complete skin/color change.
Progress on size: not so much compared to previous update, but their color is brighter...the pattern (red & white) looking clearer.

Head development: level of wen growth development is NOT similar/consistant on all pcs, maybe GENETIC factor. Mostly OK but a few pcs are very slow obviously on the white pcs.

Comment and advise are welcome. Thanks
