Conditioning the fish during water change.
1) take a clean metal basin and fill with tank water. 2) gently take the fish out from the tank and place them in the basin. 3) do this do that clean you tank. 4) fill the tank with stored water. don't use anti chlorine. must store water until chlorine evaporates naturally. also don't keep water too long. bacteria will grow. 5) slowly put the basin into the tank and let it float around for a while. 6) make sure water temp same same with tank water and basin water. 7) scoop out some water from basin. agak agak 20% 9) wait few min 10) repeat step 7,8,9 5-6times. 11)gently take fish out from basin and o\put them back to tank 12) throw away water in basin 13) put basin back to where it belongs 14) see see look look fish got any strange movement 15) go breakfast 16) back to check fish again 17) go to work (except sunday) 1 19) say hi to fish again 20) give food to fish tomolo -end-

Dear All,
Had a chat with few of our fellow forum reader. After reading my write up about how a champion ranchu is born. It does sound a little scary to some people who already having some ranchu. Naturally, it'll raise some doubt that the ranchu you are having now if it is good quality. Worrying that what we have here is not a good piece. I can assure you that it is. It is all from a very good bloodline. Moreover, we are now sketching on a normal A4 paper, not photo quality paper. There's still a long way to go to the stage that we start talking about AJRS qualification. Talking about bloodline, I have something to add here. Most people are quite extreme and particular about who and whose bloodline. At some point, it is right to do so but mostly, the definition is being abused! People tend to use bloodline as marketing tool and most hobbyist get misled. What it matter most is the person who groom it. (Carl Lewis still can out run you even if he is wearing a Bata shoe and you are wear a pair of custom designed professional sprinting shoe.) One the other hand, I suggest to read more japanese ranchu magazine or view past ranchu show winner's from online resources. This will help to give you a guideline on how you should shape your fish. Visit more website and see how other people progress on raising their fish (Japanese webpages) and do comparision. Seek our own weaknesses and strengthen them. It is a down point that we do not have enough competition in this region with qualified japanese judges. Only once happened in Indonesia.... During competition, we can compare and compete. Win or lose aside.... we'll find out if we are on the right track of "appreciating" a ranchu. Well, the good thing is the grandmaster might be visiting us end of this year. I believe it'll be an eye opening session for us.

Hi to all,
My current feeding schedule: 4-5 times BW between 4am - 12noon: feed for 1 hour then rest for 1 hour for digestion. If I started early then I get 5 feedings instead of just 4 feedings. Each feeding is 4-5cubes = 16.6 g - 20.8g Amount of total feeding is 66g (4 feedings of 4 BW) to 83g (5 feedings 4 BW) per day. Until last week I only feed BW no pellet, at previous water (last week) I started feed Hikari Lionhead after the last meal. They can take it all. Current water cycle 5-days, new water on 5th day. Will try to prolong the water cycle to 7-day cycle. My personal observation: a) 2-3 pcs are looking ok (balance body) with good cheek & headwen development b) 3 pcs of white-headed are having very poor head development, need to work much harder c) 1 pc has balance but long body, need work harder d) 2-3 pcs having deformed tail since small, although their head are developing very well Cheers, Last edited by chinaryukin : 22-07-2007 at 07:13 PM. Dear All,
Done water change this morning. Added 4 fish which taken from Vincent's place early this morning. So, total I have 10 fish in 1 meter square plus space. (Suppose 15-20 for now) So, my space is a little large for them. Therefore, I have to notice the tail being weaken if they swim too much. (Important note) Here is some pictures. a - The all white and fat boy just added in. b - Mostly mine existing ones except the half shown fat boy. c - The head growth of my existing fish. Cheers. Note: Notice the body shape. There'll be some difference in body development with BW and pallet feeding.
