From the topview, the body proportion will be shorter to the width/thickness which make it look shorter (thicker). The tail have moved forward - closer to the head.

So the peduncle part which visible from topview is the thick area;

I've done some study on development on my pcs last season.
Same result as the above - see photo below.

The big question is: Why those "benchmark" have progress so quick in this part. There must be practicing a slightly different technic,,,most probably the feeding technic. I gez more green carpet.

Comment and input are welcome!!!

Please consider this. I'm hoping for +ve answer.

Thanks again and again.
Sorry bro,

I think it is not a very good idea. Cos if we bring our own fish, we can compare our progress. Also, by this time, everyone will have a quite unique quality "built in" that shows how we groom them. This is something we can bring out and discuss.

As a matter of fact, it is a golden rule and manner of ranchu enthusiast ethic that we shall not say bad things about others fish. So, as by following those rules, we will only point out strong point of the fish. Whatever you lack, by the time, you already can see and notice. So, you can do your homework when you're back in KL.

So, don't be shy and bring 1-2 best piece of yours and show off a little.

Furthermore, I think Vincent has no more to spare. Either he is keeping it himself or someone already booked and CAN'T be collected yet. CAN'T? it is because he mush have minimum number of fish per tank until they grow big enough to leave the tank (on other words, reduce ini number per tank) But no harm asking him, he might possible can spare 1-2....

Cheers.

Feeding technique plays a big part. I reckon more bloodworm is the solution. Well, it is a very good topic to raise during the workshop... hehehe

Nothing much to show off compare to the "benchmark" my pcs are too far to catch up. But that 's why the workshop is for, so after this we can improve...maybe I'll do better next season.

Checked with Vincent, but unfortunately he don't have spare pc to letgo. Look like I have to bring my pcs although very shy of their poor development. Also still cannnot forget my poor performance last season.

Cheers,

Default Update 29/07/07

Hi to all,

Did water change this morning also doing alot of preparation before I go outstation (work) tomorrow. Did a lot of briefing to my wife to help while I'm away. I hope I got time to come back during weekend if work is porgressing ok.

I've spent most afternoon checking on them while enjoying playing with them. They like to come to my fingers, maybe hungry becoz yesterday and today no feeding BW. Realy hope they will survive while I'm away.

I realised 1 pc (long body pc) has got few scale came off, may be due to extended water cycle to 7-day. see last photo. Hope Sifu can advise on this.

Here are some photos for comment;

Hi CR, from the look of all the photos, I think you have done quite a good job on the bbrs/cbrs. mine don't meet up to the standard at all.

CR,

If you'll be away for some time, and someone is taking care your baby for you. i reckon to reduce some feeding... say 90% instead of 100% just to ensure safety.

Secondly, about the scale. Since you have drag the water change to 7 days. Means the water towards to 6th and 7th day will not be as good. therefore, it may cause itchiness on the fishes' skin. So, they will rub their body against wall or air stone. Just make sure that the air stone surface is not too rough (I've just changed one piece of mine to plastic one, zero sharp edge, to try out.) and your cement tank surface does not have any sharp edges. I've been using those cheap stuff, RM3.50 for 2" diameter airstone. Easily chip off and has very rough surface. It happens to me too. So, I've been doing airstone hunting lately. If found nice ones, will let everyone know.

On the other hand, with your heavy feeding, The water tend to turn bad easily. Therefore, you have to monitor the changes of water daily and closely.

Note:-

- If see small little bubbles (Many, soap bubble a-like.) sticking on the air tube and tank wall. Means water already going bad and do arrange water change next day.
- Strong smell means water already turn bad, do arrange water change next day. If fish already dull, do immediate water change with 0.5% salt; even if it is evening. Same as water change routine, no feeding the next day and 2nd day starts feednig gently, if eating a fast as before, start pushing again, no worries.
- Reduced appetite, normal on day 5-6. just reduce feeding according to their appetite.
- Green water density too high, reduce feeding.

If above problems happens too frequent, means it is time for bigger tank.

Cheers.

Default Update from my side.

Dear all, just an update,

I've changed my tank to a 4'x5' fiberglass, for 10 fish.

Feeding about minimum 100gram of BW a day + 30 minutes worth of AYU.

Water depth 10 cm

My observation. Fish body and head development is OK for the time being and not as good as expected. Been a while have no carpet algae and green water; need to chase on the head development.

Gotta notice the tail development very closely at this stage cos I've doubled up the space and they'll swim more. So, tend to weaken the tail.

Will update with photo later.

Reason to change tank is due to water management becomes difficult because of my heavy feeding.

Cheers.
