Hi Friends and Buddies,

Photo taken during water Change day seems a little "skinny" for my fish. Here's some update after some feeding. I know there's some people out there who likes my "fat boy". So, here it goes......

Enjoy!

Yee Miau,
Nice development, very nice headgrowth.
You have managed to fill up the gap between stomach and tail nicely.

By the way, how do you fill up the stomach area without making the fish fat?
Is it via types of food or size of the tub?

Hi Ryan,
Good to see you again!
the fish diet is 95% Bloodworm and balance 5% = Pallet + Algae.
In my opinion, the fish structure is pretty much the same; and we can't change it. What I did was changing its' balance of proportion. Therefore, it is a visual illusion that the gap became smaller.
Give them enough exercise will muscle them up a little but too much will weaken the tail. They are now in my old 4'x5' FRB tub (10 of them). So, every water change, I'll leave around only 20-25% of the space with carpet algae. Cos I need to attract them to stay at one spot more and reduce their swimming distance. Also, I put a 18" basin on top of the "net cover" near the algae patch, a small shady area for them too.

Hope it helps.

Cheers

Default Up date

Dear all,

Just an update.

Due to heavy feeding my current setup could not keep all 10pcs for the 7-day cycle. I will split them into 2 groups of 5 fishes and keep in 2 tanks with current setup (Ikea plastic tub).

Feeding (last week) is about 200g of BW a day.
Each feeding about 50g-65g (12-16 cubes Hikari BW)
Day 1: No Feeding on WC day.
Day 2-4: Feeding 4 x 50g BW: 5-6am, 7-8am, 9-10am, 11-12noon.
Day 5 & 6: Feeding 3 x 65g BW times: 6-7am, 8-9am, 10-11am.
Day 7: No Feeding

Will update with photo later.

Ryan,
Welcome back, how is your nisai doing?

Cheers,

Welcome back CR from your business trip. missing you la... heheh

CR,
Good move by splitting them at this stage. Means you are observing the progress well. *thumbs up*

update from my side too....

Daily about 200 grams too + 2 teaspoon of pallet at the end.

space = 5' x 4'
fish = 10
size = pinky (last finger)
water depth = over 10 cm (still adjusting depth, will update later)
water change = 5-6 days
green appear on day 2-3
zero return of old water.

Cheers.

Just curiuos on the timing of feeding your pellet. What time you give them, for how long. What is the time gap after last BW feeding?

Thank in advance,

Continue...

Here is the 2nd group: white headed + long bodies.

Obsevation: their size are growing but not much improvement on the head. Also need some idea to boost up the one with long body.

Advice and comment are most welcome.
