CR,

Great job! So far, I think your fish development is one of the best. Keep on the good work.

If sunlight not enough, add MH is advisable. No need a big unit or long hours of operation (save energy), just adequate for it. But research more before you getting into it. 2nd hand unit may reduce the initial cost a bit cos what is important is the bulb. It'll give you plenty of flexibility to work in green stuffs.

Cheers.

Dear UR,

Thanks for posting your lovely Ranchu here. It is a Japanese tradition for all Ranchu enthusiast, that it is rude to comment bad things or weakness about others fish. Everyone of us judge the fish with various angle according to their own liking and method, therefore, misleading comment may lead you to a wrong direction.

Furthermore, I don't think I know anyone in SEA region has the eye that able to judge a Ranchu.

All I can say is.... your fish is lovely. And, a larger picture would be much appreciated.

I hope you'll enjoy our forum here and it'd be great that we can exchange some valuable experiences from each other in the future.

Cheers.

I got only 5 bbr

Feeding schedule
6:30 -- 5 cubes of Hikari BW
7 :30 ---5 cubes of Hikari BW
8:30 ---5 cubes of Hikari BW

I don;t have ample time to feed my ranchu coz have to go to work.

Rear in 3' * 2 ' fgt.

Water Change 98 % twice a week.

Location of tank is direct sunlict in the morning. And very easily to have algae water. That is why 3 days all the water becomes very green even could not see the fish.

Anything i can improve in this method?

UR,

In my opinion, I think you are doing what's the best provided you have to go to work but I still strongly suggest that you give enough digestion time for the fish in order for them to absorb whatever you gave them.

As we have discussed before, 1 hour of digestion time... Can you squeeze in 8 cube of BW from 630-730? (730-830 for digestion)if you can, you can dump another 8 cube at 830am and auto feeder starts at 1030am. don't rush into it. Slowly adjust your fish to adopt into fast eating.

As for your claim of "over green" water in later of the day before water change. I suggest you to clear off all your GW during water change and only return one small cup of it, maybe half. I think this will delay your water change 1-2 days before it gets too "rich" for the fish. On the other hand, when you do water change, I assume you are using basin to keep the fish first then change water. If so, please slowly add clear water into your basin to dilute the GW first cos we need to give time to the fish to adjust to the clear water from green water. This also prevent the fish subject to whatever "shock" when you introduce them into the new water.

NOTE: Too dense of green water is like a time bomb. So, better rectify the SOURCE of problem and "settle" it once and for all. I think your tank has became a little too small for your fish. Any plan for an upgrade? Cos your water will turn green super fast due to limited volume of water it able to hold. 2.5' x 5' is the ideal size for you at the present time but ideally for your fish's future growth and its' permanent "rumah" I'd suggest something like 20-24 square feet surface. (4'x5') or (4'x6').... I think your friends are ordering some form Ipoh, don't miss the chance to "tumpang" order.

Some trick that might be useful to you....

Put a shade on top of the tub and limit some sunlight, so, it may reduce the green water a little. but, remember to leave a good gap of space for air exchange (wind).

Cheers.
