Hi CR,

Glad to see u back. Ur tvr looks good, any close up photo for them ?

My tvrs not doing well recently. One had floating problem & went through quarantine & treatment. I also took out 2 pcs due to tail defect. Left over 7 pcs have not much significant chnage..

Bros,

About the latest program... I think it is best wait for a few more days till LiewKun comes back from Nagano. We'll get the latest update...

CR, your ranchus are doing well. Just wondering, are they in much green water?

cheers,
yeemiau

Yeemiau,
Thanks for your reply, I'll wait for Master Nagano. Will try to catch up with him this weekend.

As u know my setup get very limited sunlight, very difficult to get green. So turning to clear water is just simply back to my everyday setup, clear water almost till water change.

My tvr strugle with 100% WC, they are affected by sudden 100% water change. I'm thinking to use filter system and WC 50-80% only. Something similar to the 'canistyer filter' model in used by CnT, but I need to modify becoz my water level is lower that the canister filter. Also need to improvise so that water inflow do not create big flow in tank.
Any advise?

Thanks.

Hi Eu,

How close you want to see them? I'll try if my camera can focus at closer distance. How about yours, any new update & close-up photos?

What do you mean "took out", where r they now? Any chance for me to adopt them?

Cheers,

CR, for ur setup to use canister need to place the pump into the FGT. Use a less powerful pump if worried of flow too strong.

Instead of 100% water change, why not try first 80%. But maintain ur current setup, since u hv nice wall algae + some green water. Then mayb ur gfs not affected too much.

Do u check ur water hardness after changing water. Mayb KH/PH too low. I always add KHbuffer to maintain KH lvl of 3deg.

Hi,

Should I use the canister filter model, I plan to WC max 50% to reduce change to the existing water hence reduce stress and affect on the ranchus. I may include UV to get clear water.

BTW today I lost 1 of my tosai under quaranteen (the white-red pc). 3 others are continue under quaranteen.

I don't practice checking water, maybe thats my biggest weakness.

Cheers,

Hi CR,

Close up like this la (see attachment). Photo took on 7Oct.

I took out 2 pcs of tvr & put them to my indoor glass tank. I still keep them, not intend to let go any.

My tvr floating problem still not solve yet. For 1 pcs, it still float (after 1 week in green water with normal feed) when i put it back to green water tub after 2 week fasting. It seem another 2 pcs also have very mild floating symtom. I notice the fish hv floating problem on the day of water change, maybe just bcos i can't see the fish clear during green water time.

I am trying hard to find the reason cause this floating. 2 possible reasons are:

a) Due to heavy feed, water quality is bad & some bad bateria cause gas generation in fish. I observe poop with gas bulble.

b) Pellet in autofeeder turn bad due to long time in humid env. This cause fish hv indigestion & gas generation in fish.

Due to this floating problem, i further reduce the feeding amount, less bw, less pellet.

Anyone hv better advise ?

regards
eu

Hi Eu,

Very nice close up photo, I will try soon.

About your floating problem: if they are taking food as usual (no lost appetite), I suggest you try feeding green peas.

My fishes losing appetite.....not taking BW or pellet. Look like I have to put them all into quaranteen again.

Good luck,
