Hello Lim,

Nice collection of Oranda you have there. Form the shape of their body, they seem to be of the variety that is now prevalent in Thailand, ie. roundish 'disk' shaped body. This is very different from the 'typical' Malaysian variety with the short body and large head. Indeed, I prefer the 'Thai' variety as I've experienced many probems with the short bodied ones such as SBD and internal bacteria infection. Congratulations on your success in breeding them! Only one thing I would try to improve on and that is the headgrowth.

Cheers!

Thanks for your kind words. Yes the head will grow in due course. By mid year, some of them will look more like oranda than ryukin. I have many more that looks just like ryukin and I believe they will develope the wen in about a year's time. They are really huge by comparison to these few pieces that I have shown.
