R u looking for ranchus specifically from Japan? or TVRs?
If ranchus from Japan, then get ready with deep pockets n a rare search. Only place iv come across TVRs from Japan is at Jeffs Arowana Aquarium. Its a Jap koi place, but he occasionally imports baby Jap TVRs. About 2 mths ago ter was a batch of 2-3" going for RM120. If looking for reasonable priced, quality TVRs, then made-in-Thailand is the way to go. Amazon has a relatively steady import of Thai bred TVRs, all sizes, all prices. FSF occasionally brings in some. In fact they hd a Thai shipment about a month ago. They may hv some leftovers going on sale. Lastly, Singapore is a place were TVRs r more common. Check out rafflesgold n arofanatics fr the TVR kakis in Spore. Take a drv ter n bring home some. They recently hd a ranchu competition too. Hows ur initial collection? still got place for TVRs? patched-up ur leak already? Happy searching |

Hello CnT,
Tks for pointing me in the right direction. I still have not fixed the leak right now. The contractors promised to fix it before CNY. Pros and cons here. On one hand, my water bill shot up to double the usual amount. On the other hand, I don't have to change the water at all. My collection is quite stable right now. Recently just lost a crown pearlscale. My guess is due to old age as I suspect that it was a runt due to abnormally large eyes. The rest are OK and are bulking up, though not as fast as I had hoped. I know where FSF is but where is Amazon and Jeff's. Have not come across them although I'm from the Klang Valley. Having them shipped from Singapore is not an option la. Since I'm relatively new to this hobby, I though I'd better get some Thai TVRs first before making the leap to the genuine article. BTW how much should I expect to pay for Thai TVRs and where is Amazon & Jeff's? Many tks for any feedback! |

Amazon Image is in the Balakong area, deep behind Mines Shopping Centre. Search for threads on its address n detailed directions to the place.
Jeffs place is called Arowana Aquarium. Its off Old Klang rd, from the police station junction, after the mosque, behind Caltex. Look out for his advertisement in theStar. Thai TVRs r about the same or abit more exp compared to China SVRs. Small 2-3" about rm30+. Ikano has some old leftover Thai TVRs going on sale 30% off. Biggest sale iv seen. Got bigbig China SVRs going for rm270 after 40% off. Will look very nice in ur pond. Happy shopping |

Yes, they are with me. I bought them up initially so that I can help promote the hobby by selling the tosais at a much cheaper price than when I bought initially to promote TVR at the auction at bro Naganoliewkun's house.
Any members of friends interested can contact me if you interested to get these tosai, but please bear in mind I just started work in Shah Alam and the fish in Ipoh, so some arrangements for meeting in Ipoh or work something else out. There are about 20 plus left available. All I can say is that they all have pretty good structure foundation. Follow bro Naganoliewkun and fellow friends advise should be able to groom them into quite nice adults. Last edited by mybirdshit : 24-12-2007 at 09:32 PM. |
