Is it necessary to cover the tank with dark background?
I have a tank 1 feet x 1 feet x 1 feet custom made and still bare/clear glass.
What type of filter you use? Which one is better, filter box with cotton wool inside or sponge filter.

I used filter box but my tank become slimy very fast. Do you have a way to settle it.

Please pm me your Blue Grass price. Really nice. Is it s train you get from Japan?
Sahari, wow, so many question in one shot... anyway, i think Hikari is good enough... you can blend your own ingredient, it is up to you, depend on your fish like them or not... for my own experience, i bought decap bbs from US with $$$ but my fish never bother to eat, they prefer $ food... but according to most of the oversea breeder, they prefer bbs, this is the best food for guppy...
Abt the filter, i think you can see that i m using cheap cheap guppy filter box, it does not make big different, this is also depend on person to person... how often do you change water??!!

So sorry about my inquiry.
I have change a water once a week thru siphoning method and add new water.
Another question, I have male PlatinumRed Monovie Swallow but the female was died during the transportion from Thailand. Which type of female is the best to couple it. the only choice is to cross breed this strain but I do not know the female type which suitable to this strain.

This is a Half black Blue Swallow that i borrow from Taiwanese website,
Onwer : Mr. Sheng-Hui Lin
Country : Taiwan

you see it's 'thing', very long, right? So it is very difficult for this fella to 'sodomize' female... so normally swallow gene is pass on from female to offspring...

Default Platinum Red

The tail is Red with Mosaic pattern and the body is platinum.
Prevoiusly I have one Swallow with long gonopodium bit he was died.
The only one that I have is his brother with short gonopodium.
Is all the ribbon type have the long gonopodium?
I have 2 ribbon male Moscow Blue and 1 ribbon USA white tail with long gonopodium. If they cannot 'sodomise' the female, they can use for a show only, right?
It is necessary to separate them from the female?

yes, ribbon and swallow have long gonopodium, and male with long gonopodium can hardly 'hit' the female, even if they could chance is very very low...
why separate them from female??!!

For Moscow Blue, I have 2 ribbon male, 2 normal male and 1 ribbon female.
For RREA USA White tail I have 1 ribbon male, 1 normal male and 1 ribbon female.

Should I put all together for this strain Moscow Blue and White tail or take out the male with ribbon type as they are very aggresive to the female even to the normal male.

When I suppose take out the male from the breeding tank?
Once we see the female gravid spot become biger and black or just leave the male until the fry was born?

What is your opinion and suggestion?

Thank you.

For me, i dun like swallow or ribbon, so i dun have much experience with then ... anyway, if you think these ribbon male not hurting your other fishes, then no need to separate them loh...

For the pregnant female, better get yourself a breeding net, you can also DIY one for yourself with those plastic basket... it is difficult to tell when is the female going to spawn... the cycle for female to spawn is around 3 weeks once... keep record, then you will know when to separate the female from male...

When you are coming to KL?
The Moscow Blue that you are searching for me, is it the same price as before?
Is it true that this strain can throw Moscow Green and purple as I have these colours.
