Ng so sorry to hear that. The swallow female actually quite good (although I don't prefer swallow tails).

I liked Lai's female alot. Judging by their size we should know that it must be aggresive enough to compete for food and grow.

Vincor, there's a thing called doing to much. Sometimes it's just up to nature and your luck. If your water quality and everything is OK then let nature takes its course. I would only forsee difficulty if the guppy is left alone. It will succumb to loneliness aka stress.

And I don't mix their water with mine because I am quite confident with my water quality since Tony said his water pH is 7. When I came back just scoop them into my tank after adjusting the temperature and sleep. Never bothered to look at them after the 2 males died horribly.

If the fishes really bloated with worms, sad to say its hopeless because its internal infection which cannot be purged with any other treatment except deworm food which I had been searching quite some time already to no avail.

My fish are all bought from Lai, I suspect the female die and the others not well is b'coz of the sudden change of temperature, recently my room temperature is low, about 26 dc, most of my fish are not aggresive as usual, eat also less.

Hmmm, as what Galactuz said, worm is good for growth but they carry bacteria... My point here is Mr. Lai fish might be carrier for bacteria or virus because it was fed with Tubi worm... Bacteria or virus carrier won't show any sign if they are in 'Good' condition. But when environment changed suddenly, fishes become weak and immune power down, and these bacteria or virus carry by the carrier will come out and do bad thing...

hm.. in that case i guess i juz introduce my guppies with the little super white fella. Guess these guppies enjoys snatching and following what others did.Juz as what i did to my other guppies.

Regarding deworm food. There is a deworm food for bettas. But i am not sure do it works for guppies as well. That is what i had been trying to explain feeding vege over the chinese forum done by helven. One of the vege i tried to mention is Pea.

Dear All,

Excuse me for being busy body here.
I read in the discus forum, when the fish get bloating/internal parasite, Epsom Salt may help.
There is also a medication call Metronidazole ( you can get from the pharmercy at about 20 sen each ) that is suppose to be good for this.
(Same for Arowana I was told)
Hope this is helpful.

Cheers!

BT Lee

Thanks Lee for the info. But care to explain how to medicate the fish not necessary for guppy.

Whats the difference between Epsom salt with say the normal aquarium salt/rock salt?

I've heard of Metronidazole but how do you administer the medication to the fish. Just by dilution into the tank water or orally by crushing and mixing with the food for them to consume??

This would be an interesting topic for guppy fans. However we need someone to experiment on their guppies. I'm afraid of the acute dosage which would spell the end of your guppy

Unhappy Another potential male gone!

Whatever it is, I just put salt. Found out the male getting better now. Will check again after work, hope they can start to eat later on.

Unfortunately, a male that I bought from AI that show very high potential has gone this morning, this fellow seems to be infected by Lai fishes, I shouldn't mix them together.. quite sad.

discover the main problem why the male fish wasnt eating..... i dip the water into the qurantine tank and found that the water was icy cold. Looks more like juz added ice cube into it. In the end i add the two fishes into my main tank(with heater) and find it feeding on wildly together with my home guppies.but there is still abnormalities within the mozaic. Seems it create quite an attraction for my snakeskin mozaics.
